I
was born around
the time of man’s
first steps onto
the lunar surface
and grew up in
a small rural
community in
the Sussex countryside.
Half-decent school
grades meant
I could get into
Art College so
that I could
develop my artistic
skills and become
a graphic designer.
The freedom of
college life
on the Sussex
coast allowed
me to discover
my real personality
and my love for
the iconic Apple
Mac.

My journey towards design
greatness lead me to do a
degree in the city of Leicester;
a move that lead me to fall
in love with one of the Midlands’ most
underrated cities and make
it my permanent home.

Over the years, I’ve
evolved from being a designer
into a fully-fledged web-monkey.
I currently work for a large
online business and pretty
much run the joint as well
as flexing my design muscles
on a daily basis.

Away from the daily grind
I love spending time with
my friends, enjoying good
food and wine (or in fact
any wine) and also forays
into the world of clubs and
bars - sadly my days of clubbing
weekends, dancing hour after
hour, are now a thing of
the past; although my passion
for music hasn’t left
me.

In my mid-twenties I took
the large step of admitting
to myself that I was gay
and waved goodbye to the
notion of ever providing
my mum and dad with the grandkids
they’ve always desired
- their hopes now rest squarely
on my brother’s shoulders.

While surfing a UK site called Gaydar.co.uk in
2001 I saw the profile of
a young man called David and
dropped him an email. After
a few dates I asked him out
and we’ve been together
ever since, living together
in a lovely 1930s semi on
the west side of Leicester.
Like all gay couples, our
home is shared with a ubiquitous
pair of cats. |
